Grimaldi Barolo Sotto Castello di Novello 2021

The 2021 Barolo Sotto Castello di Novello is a dark, potent wine. A blast of blue-toned fruit, lavender, cloves, new leather, licorice and chocolate gives the 2021 its decidedly extroverted personality. This is not a shy wine by any means.

Lots of licorice with dried flowers, as well as distant touches of violets and prunes. Full-bodied with juicy dark fruit and a frame of grippy, firm tannins that persist throughout the finish. Better in 2028.
