A bright ruby color, the 2021 Barbaresco is fresh and floral on the nose, with notes of fresh roses, raspberries, sweet herbs, and fresh peach. Medium-bodied and bright on the palate, with tangy citrus taking the lead, it offers finely coiled tannins, zesty acidity, and a chalky texture, then turns to more tangy cranberry-noted fruit, with a good bit of grip on the sides of the palate. This is a refreshing and energetic Barbaresco to drink over the next 10-12 years.

Starting with a reserved demeanor, this wine gradually reveals layers of subtle herbal nuances and delicate wild rose aromas. With time, notes of incense, black cherries, and clove emerge, adding complexity. On the palate, vibrant flavors of fresh raspberries and tart plum are complemented by earthy tones of tea and fresh earth. Fine tannins provide structure, while classic Nebbiolo acidity lifts the wine and makes the mouth salivate for each successive sip.

The 2021 Barbaresco is soft, open-knit and very easy to like. Crushed dried flowers, sweet dried cherry, mint and tobacco emerge from the glass, while pretty floral top notes lift the finish nicely.
